The Best Super Bowl Ads

Some people watch the Super Bowl for the game, but others watch it for the commercials. Game day is known for being home to funny, eye-catching, innovative ads.  These are a few of our top picks from this past Sunday’s game.

Best Super Bowl Ads of 2017

84 Lumber: ‘The Journey Begins’

This year’s ads were not without political commentary. 84 Lumber’s Super Bowl commercial focused on political commentary and  left viewers wanting to learn what happened next in the story, which they could only do by visiting their website. From a marketing perspective, the advertisement did a great job of driving traffic to their website.

Bai: Big Game Ad – Starring Justin Timberlake and Christopher Walken

Bai’s ad was equal parts nostalgic, funny, and clever. The ad opens up with Christopher Walken speaking the words to the hit N Sync’s song “Bye Bye Bye”. The camera then shows that he is sitting next to Justin Timberlake. The juxtaposition and the play on words makes this arguably one of the more clever Super Bowl ads.

Skittles: “Romance”

Romance is theme that catches everyone’s attention. This year, Skittles’ Super Bowl commercial reminded us that Skittles is a candy that everyone likes. It’s always important to give your audience a message that they can relate to.

Coke: “It’s Beautiful”

Coke commercials are Super Bowl staple. This year, they revamped their ad from a few years ago, where a group of diverse people sang “America the Beautiful” in different languages. Ads that make a strong statement can be memorable and powerful.

Budweiser: “Born the Hard Way”

Budweiser commercials are sought after during the Super Bowl. This year’s commercial may have been designed to make political commentary, but it was certainly attention grabbing.

Kia: “Hero’s Journey”

Melissa McCarthy plays an accident-prone environmentalist in this Kia advertisement that was funny, while still getting their message across.
