Best Super Bowl TV Ads

The Super Bowl isn’t just about the game.  TV advertising is almost as important to viewers as the football score – and this interest does not go unnoticed by marketers.  This year, marketers spent up to $5 million for just 30 seconds of airtime.  Top brands were fighting to get noticed during Super Bowl 50.

Here are a few of the best Super Bowl ads from this past weekend.  Which was your favorite?

Best Super Bowl Ads:

Hyundai’s ‘First Date’

Why It Was Effective:

Hyundai related to parents (and children) everywhere with their ‘First Date’ Super Bowl advertisement.  The commercial told the memorable story of an overbearing parent on a first date. This one stuck in the audience’s mind because of its humor and relatable content.

Heinz’s ‘Wiener Stampede’

Why It Was Effective:

It’s hard to resist the adorable nature of wiener dogs.  The stampede of puppies was a real attention grabber for pet lovers everywhere.

Doritos ‘Ultrasound’

Why It Was Effective:

Doritos used humor to effectively keep their viewers’ attention.  Not only was the commercial funny, but it also successfully branded their company without being salesy.

Avocados from Mexico

Why It Was Effective:

They referenced many of the most popular trends of the year in a humorous approach to how an alien species might look back on humanity.  From the white and gold dress that caused a civil war to our native alphabet (emojis) they were able to capture the audience’s attention.  Of course, they also included avocados in their exhibit!
